Transportation Planning is the responsibility of the Regional Planning and Transportation Division (R P T D)About the Regional Planning and Transportation Division
The formation of the Division was an initiative to ensure an integrated approach to land use and transportation planning. RPTD was created in August 2002 by the amalgamation of two Divisions, Regional Planning Division, set up to produce, implement and review the Regional Development Strategy , and Regional Transportation Strategy Division, created to produce, implement and monitor the Regional Transportation Strategy.
The RTS indicated that the Division would undertake research, initiate policy developments, monitor and review the implementation of the RDS and RTS.
