Alternative Annaghmore Road Bellshill Road junction at Castledawson

A Planning Application supported by an Environmental Statement was submitted to Planning NI in December 2010, seeking planning permission to construct the alternative junction. A Notice of Intention to Make a Vesting Order (NIMVO) was published in January 2011, to compulsorily acquire the land required to construct a junction to connect Annaghmore Road and Bellshill Road at Castledawson to the proposed A6 Toome to Castledawson Dual Carriageway. A Public Inquiry into the NIMVO due to take place in September 2011 was postponed until after the publication of the Magherafelt Area Plan (MAP). O’Neill as assistant inspector to hold an inquiry into its proposal to make an order under Article 113 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 and Schedule 6 of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 for the purpose of acquiring the land to construct a junction to connect Annaghmore Road and Bellshill Road at Castledawson to the proposed A6 Toome to Castledawson Dual Carriageway. The inquiry will be held in Christ Church Parish Hall, 10 Station Road, Castledawson commencing at 10.30 am on 13 February 2012 and continuing to such other days as may be determined by the inspector appointed to conduct the proceedings.
