Description
Improve 2.4km of single carriageway between Jordanstown and Seapark.
Scheme Status
The Statutory Orders in connection with the proposed scheme were published on 14th March 2007. The Orders are based on the preferred option Combined Route (555 Kb) which was chosen following completion of the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Scheme Assessment Reports.
A Public Inquiry was held between 8th and 16th October 2007 at the Clarion Hotel Carrickfergus.
The Departmental Statement following the Public Inquiry was publicised on 1 October 2008, when the Statutory Notices including the Notice to Proceed were published. The Inspectors Report, the Consideration of the Inspectors Report, and the Departmental Statement are contained under the Useful Documents heading.
Following the announcement of funding by the Minister for Regional Development on 14 February 2012 the scheme has proceeded to procurement stage.
Next Steps
The remaining Statutory Order, the Vesting Order is expected to be made in 2012.
Subject to a successful procurement process the scheme could progress to construction stage in early 2013, which is anticipated to take up to 2 years to complete.
