The recently completed roundabouts at Millbrook and Antiville improve road safety by regulating speed and improving side road access on the A8 dual carriageway approach to Larne. Minister of State, John Spellar MP, declared the roundabouts open during a visit to the Port of Larne on January 13, 2004. The Minister said he was pleased to see the completion of another stage in the £12 million package of improvements on the A8 Belfast to Larne Road.

Consultants Scott Wilson and Ferguson McIlveen planned the roundabouts as part of improvements on the A8 Belfast to Larne Road. Roads Service Consultancy completed the detailed design of the roundabouts and supervised the construction of the roundabouts.

Contractor FP McCann Ltd built the £2.2 million roundabouts. Traffic management was a top priority during the contract and every effort was taken to minimise disruption to road users with Millbrook roundabout constructed ahead of Antiville roundabout.
