A5 Omagh Throughpass
Description
New 2.4km single carriageway extension to throughpass. The purpose of the scheme, in conjunction with the associated Crevenagh Road Link Scheme, is to alleviate traffic congestion on the Southern and Eastern approaches to Omagh town and to allow through traffic unrestricted passage through Omagh town. Stage III of the Omagh Throughpass will extend from the existing Throughpass at the Great Northern Road to the Dublin Road at Doogary, South of Lissan Bridge. The total length of the Scheme is 3.1 km of which 0.7 km relates to the Crevenagh Road improvement.
Current Position
Contract awarded 20 July to Deane Public Works and Gerald Love Contracts.
