Introduction

Initial work on the review of the Regional Housing Growth Indicators in the Regional Development Strategy is now complete.

The Department has issued a Consultation Document on the outcome of the Review of the Regional Housing Growth Indicators of the Regional Development Strategy for Northern Ireland 2025 and the methodology employed in adjusting the housing growth indicators. This is accompanied by a draft Equality Impact Assessment. Both documents are available to download by clicking on the relevant links below.

The review work has been informed by a proposed new model for household projections for Northern Ireland produced by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA). Examination in Public

The Examination In Public into the Review of the RDS housing figures was held from 14 to 17 February 2006 and the Department received the Panel`s report on 31 March 2006.

The Panel's report sets out a consideration of the matters, which were addressed at the Examination in Public, and makes 27 recommendations.

These recommendations have been considered by the Department and a response has been published. Both the Panel's Report and the DRD response can be viewed below.

The three Panel members are Elaine Kinghan (Chairperson), Chris Shepley and Brendan Murtagh.

Final Figures Published

Final Housing Growth Indicators have now been prepared and are included in the DRD response to the Panel's Report.
