Public Transport - Performance
Introduction
The role of Public Transport Performance Division is to determine, on behalf of the taxpayer, whether bus and rail services are delivered in a way that represents value for money. The aim is to provide timely and accurate advice to the Department and Ministers on the performance of bus and rail services in Northern Ireland.
The Division works with Translink and other Divisions of the Department with respect to issues such as:
- Developing and monitoring key service delivery and financial performance indicators for bus and rail transport, including the Translink Passenger Charter, and developing benchmarking with similar undertakings;
- Maintaining a continuous review of key performance indicators;
- Keeping under review projected demand scenarios for bus services;
- Inputting processes to major economic appraisals and specific exercises;
- Undertaking research where appropriate.
