The branch carries out statistical and research work relating to transport, road safety, equality, the environment, and regional planning. Branch publications include quarterly Road and Rail Transport bulletins; annual Transport Statistics reports and annual Seat Belt bulletins and Road Safety Monitors. CSRB also regularly contributes to other statistics publications including the Northern Ireland Annual Abstract, N.I. Social Brief, N.I. Housing Statistics, Regional Trends and Social Trends.
Statistics and Research Advice and Research Management
The statisticians carry out and advise DRD and DOE on: surveys; sampling; policy evaluations and how to devise performance indicators and targets. They also commission and manage external research and large scale surveys on behalf of policy customers. Branch members are involved in carrying out Equality Impact Assessments on policies.
