Major £6m LED street lighting pilot scheme for Banbridge and Craigavon

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a major step forward in energy saving LED street lighting across Northern Ireland with a major pilot scheme in Banbridge and Craigavon.

Over the next eight months, around 20,000 LED street lights will be installed in the area.

Danny Kennedy said: “In these financially challenging times, it is important that every effort is made to make savings and reduce costs without impacting on the public.

Kennedy announces plans for Belfast bicycle routes

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy is inviting the public to have their say on proposals for the further development of bicycle infrastructure in Belfast.

Danny Kennedy said: “As an important element of my ambition to improve the bicycle network across Belfast, I am inviting the local community to become involved in making the city more accessible and attractive for the bicycle."
