Kennedy announces £575,000 for pedestrian and cycle improvement scheme in Bangor

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the funding for a £575,000 scheme to upgrade pedestrian and cycle facilities at A2 / Gransha Road Roundabout in Bangor, Co Down.

Kennedy cuts first sod on A26 Glarryford to A44 Drones Road dualling scheme

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy today cut the first sod of the £55million A26 Glarryford to A44 Drones Road Dualling scheme.

The Minister is pictured with (left) William Diver from BAM/ McCann Joint Venture and Colin Hutchinson from TransportNI.

The scheme will extend over 8km, consisting of 7km of new dual carriageway, a new roundabout at the junction of the A44 Drones Road as well as a number of grade separated junctions along the scheme, which will provide access to the new and local road network.

Works are expected to be completed in summer 2017
